Dr Simon Dunn BDS FDSRCS DPDS is the owner and principal dentist at Zetland Road Dental Practice.
Simon trained at Manchester University qualifying in 1988 where he remained for the first year post qualification as a House Officer. This was followed by one year at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and two years at Frenchay Hospital as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery.
During this time he passed both parts of the Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Simon started in General Dental Practice in 1993 in Clifton, Bristol. It was here that he started his surgical referral service which he still offers to local colleagues to this day. He attended his first year long Implant Training course in 1995 and was one of the first dentists in Bristol to start placing and restoring dental implants and consequently is one of the most experienced implant dentists in the area.
Simn bought Zetland Road Dental Practice in 1997 and has overseen its transformation to the busy private practice it is now. He undertook further implant training with another year long course in 1999 and completed the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies at the University of Bristol in 2001.
Simon has served as a trainer for newly qualified dental students as well as teaching in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Primary Care at Bristol Dental Hospital. He has lectured undergraduate and postgraduates on oral surgery, dental implantology and TMJ (jaw joint) diseases.
He now works full time at the practice and his main interest is the reconstruction of heavily worn and damaged dentitions with a combination of restorative, implant and cosmetic techniques.
